The Divequest Adventures DIsscovery SCUBA Camp is available to all ages 8 and up.

Time for some serious fun!!!

Join us in the pool for our 4-day SDI Discovery Scuba Camp. This camp program gives you a glimpse of what you can expect to experience in the underwater world as well as what you can expect to learn in the Open Water Scuba Diver course. During this experience program, you will go through the basic safety procedures for enjoyable scuba diving under the watchful eye of an active Instructor.  We will spend 4 days safely learning the science and skills of diving, so campers become confident and comfortable in the water in a fun environment. 

Included in DiveQuest Discovery Scuba Camp:

• SDI Scuba Discovery Certification
• Use of Regulator, BCD, Tanks, & Weights
• Water
• And Lot's of fun!

Want to get Open Water certified and take your diving to the next level???

Campers also have the option to earn their SDI Open Water Diver certification for an additional fee linked below. This will include all Online Education Materials and Required Dives. Additional pool skills will be conducted on Fridays and can be scheduled with your instructor.

Because diving is serious business, achieving the optional SDI Open Water Diver Certification requires some additional instruction and additional days of diving.  With this add on, campers receive:

• the complete SDI Open Water Diver eLearning online course
• confined water pool sessions
• four open water dives that will complete the requirements for the course
• SDI Open Water Diver Certification upon successful completion of the requirements

All students of the Discovery Scuba Camp must provide:

• Mask, snorkel and fins
• Bathing Suit & Towel
• Dry Change of Clothes
• Snack
• Rashguard (not necessary, but recommended)

Camp Hours:  Monday through Thursday , 8am-12pm.  Friday is reserved for students advancing their Open Water Certification or an optional additional day for campers to continue their pool SCUBA skills at the Instructors discretion. Times vary due to conditions. 

Location:  Private or Local Commercial Pool (You shall be notified prior to commencement of camp)

Monday: 

• Icebreaker
• Use of Mask/Snorkel and Fins
• Underwater Communications
• Snorkel Skills
  
• Snorkel games in the water
• Assign scuba gear, identify the components and breathe underwater
• Science Lesson: Adapting to the Underwater World (Vision, Sound, Light, Heat loss)

Tuesday:

• Learn to set up the Scuba unit
• Diving with a buddy
  
• Learn how to breath underwater with Scuba gear
• Scuba skills
• Practice buoyancy underwater with games
• Science Lesson: Breathing Under Pressure: Physics

Wednesday:

• Learn how to use a compass underwater
• Compass course underwater
• Scuba skills
• Learn about safety stops and why they are important.
• Science Lesson: Breathing Under Pressure: Physiology

Thursday:

• Scuba rescue skills
• Search and recovery skills
• Buoyancy practice/games
• Science Lesson: Diving Around the World, Types of Diving and Dive Planning
• Camp Graduation
